What to expect when using the Dynasplint® Jaw System

Passive range of motion and strengthening exercises
The Jaw Dynasplint® System can be introduced when the patient has as little as 7mm of oral opening and is intended to be used at home by the patient. A typical patient will use the Dynasplint® System 3 times per day for up to 30 minutes per session, 7 days per week.
Every patient is paired with a Dynasplint® Consultant. This person will come to the facility of the doctor, physical and speech therapist to custom fit the Jaw Dynasplint® System and provides instructions for ongoing use. The ongoing role of the Dynasplint® Consultant is so instrumental since they customize the initial fitting for the patient, as well as adapt the variability of technology which is inherent to the design of the Jaw Dynasplint® System.
The upper and lower mouthpieces are customized by the Dynasplint® Consultant to accommodate each patient’s unique oral structure. Multiple sets of different types and styles of mouthpieces may be incorporated and used through-out the patients’ therapy program. The use of a specific mouthpiece is also dependent on the phase of treatment and the unique needs of the patient such as ROM, strengthening, pain-free mobility and lateral deviation.
Although the unit may be purchased, most patients only need to use the system for a few months and therefore, it is more cost effective to be rented on a monthly basis. Dynasplint® takes care of all insurance verification and processing. Once the prescription for a Jaw Dynasplint® System is written from the doctor, Dynasplint® will handle the rest. Throughout the entire therapy time, the Dynasplint® Consultant will stay in contact with the doctor or therapist to report progress and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
