A definition of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is chronic inflammation of the joints and the tissues around the joints. Typically, RA is a progressive disease that has the potential to cause joint destruction and functional disability. The inflammation causes swelling, pain and stiffness which leads to aching joints. Simple tasks, such as turning door knobs and opening jars can become difficult during flares. Wearing a dynamic splint can lengthen the connective tissues surrounding the affected joints. If you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, you may want to consider wearing a Dynasplint® System to regain your lost range of motion.
