Parkinson’s Disease
A definition of Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. Over time Parkinson’s will impair physical movement and body function. This is both chronic and progressive often leaving joints with “cogwheel” rigidity when the limb is passively moved. Many of the symptoms result in tightening of the soft tissue and can lead to interference with walking due to contractures that may form in the foot and ankle. To assist in preventing contractures, you may want to consider using a Dynasplint® System as part of your lifestyle management process.
