Fractured Tibial Plateau
A definition of Fractured Tibial Plateau (stiff knee)
A tibial plateau fracture is a break in the bone at the top of the shin, and involves the cartilage surface of the knee joint. Remodeling of the cartilage can take several months and it is important to keep all weight off of the knee joint until the fracture has healed. Wearing a dynamic splint will apply a gradual tension to the joint and remodel the connective tissue to restore range of motion. If you have had a tibial plateau fracture, you may want to consider wearing a Dynasplint® System to aid in your recovery process.
