Rotator Cuff Repairs

A definition of the Rotator Cuff and Rotator Cuff Repairs

The rotator cuff is a group of four tendons and muscles that stabilize the shoulder joint and allow movement in your arm. A repair is a surgical procedure where the surgeon sutures together the shoulder tendon after being torn. Tears can occur when tendonitis in the rotator cuff actually wears a hole right through the rotator cuff tendon. After surgery a patient is left stiff and with limited range of motion. A Shoulder Dynasplint® System is designed to lengthen the tendons and muscles to allow you to raise and rotate your arm. If you are post surgery and your doctor has cleared you for active range of motion, you may want to consider using a dynamic splint to aid in your rehabilitation process.
