“I am writing this as a testimonial, on behalf of Dynasplint Systems, regarding my experience using their shoulder system. In August of 2009, I was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff and labrum. These were surgically repaired by Charles Willamson, MD or Port Orange, FL. Following the surgery I began therapy at Florida Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation. My therapy was progressing reasonably well, but my physical therapist, Dave Manestar, PT mentioned to me that there was a device call Dynasplint that may help enhance my rehabilitation. Since I’ve always been an athletic person, I was interested in anything that could help expedite my outcome towards getting full movement in my shoulder. Upon approval from Dr. Williamson, I was introduced to Bill Teague of Dynasplint Systems. Mr. Teague met me at physical therapy and set me up with their shoulder system. Within several days of beginning treatment, my therapist and I began to notice improvement. I continued working with the device for a couple of months, and return it with just about 100% movement in my shoulder.
The treatment sessions were short (15-20 minutes, 2-3 times daily), and it gave me the opportunity to treat my shoulder at home when it was convenient for me. Since the device works on the principle of sustained, low force stretching, it was very tolerable. As Bill explained, the more stretching time, or end range time I could get, the better and faster the muscles and soft tissues would stretch permanently, which would unlock my shoulder. I was very happy to have had access to this treatment method to supplement my physical therapy and would recommend it to anyone who is trying to recover movement after a surgery.
