The Equine/Camelid and Small Animal Dynasplint® Systems will change veterinary medicine forever.   The Dynasplint® System aids in treating congenital and acquired angular and flexural deformities, restoring ROM to joints by applying a low-load, prolonged-duration stretch (LLPS).

The Equine Dynasplint® Systems are also being integrated into treatments for laxity and suspensory ligament injuries.

Our unique System is comfortable to wear, easy to apply, and adjusts to fit equine, camelid, and small animal patients.  Best of all, the Dynasplint® Systems treatment is gentle, non-invasive, and the protocol is customized to the patient and client needs.

Dynasplint Systems, Inc. has been the visionary leader in the market of dynamic splinting for over 27 years, providing new and creative ways to help patients regain range of motion and quality of life.

Dynasplint® is a valuable tool in my rehabilitation practice, both with two-legged human patients and four-legged canine patients. It's certainly a welcome addition in the field of small animal rehabilitation, a recent collaborative effort between physical therapy and veterinary medical professionals. Not only does Dynasplint® allow my patients to "take my hands home" with them, but I'm certainly assured that my patients and clients will be compliant, safe, and comfortable with their range of motion home programs.

Veterinary Protocols and Procedures

Protocols

The Dynasplint® System and its protocol should be used under the supervision and advice of a licensed veterinarian. You will need to speak with a trained Dynasplint® consultant to determine a specific protocol for your animal.  We will customize the protocol and application for each specific animal for optimal results.

Many factors including but not limited to diagnosis, severity of the condition, patient history, and compliance level will determine the length of time the Dynasplint® System will be needed.  Again, it is vital to work with your Dynasplint® consultant to assure correct application and protocol.

A trained Dynasplint® consultant will customize a treatment schedule based on the individual needs of your animal. This treatment schedule will include a chart summarizing the daily hours of wear and tension adjustment protocol.

Tension Settings

The tension setting will vary with each case and diagnosis. Your trained Dynasplint® consultant will determine a starting tension. Never use more tension than your consultant has instructed you to apply.

It is important to follow the individualized treatment schedule that your Dynasplint® consultant has created for you.

It is very important to remove the Dynasplint® System daily to inspect the skin for signs of swelling and irritation.  Equine patients must be stalled while wearing the Dynasplint® System.  For small animal clients, we recommend they be at rest while wearing the unit. For camelid and other livestock clients, we recommend that they be confined to a small area while wearing the Dynasplint® System.  Stop using the Dynasplint® System and contact your Dynasplint® consultant immediately if you note:

  • Swelling
  • Skin irritation
  • Soreness or stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes
  • The splint slips or rotates
  • Any suspect or adverse effects

Do not increase time or tension if any of these signs are present.
