“I was referred to Meharry Physical Therapy after having had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery.  Even though I had the surgery I was still experiencing severe pain and weakness in my hands.  Also, I was I unable to hold items in my hand.  I had several weeks of physical therapy with Mr. Meharry, during that time he used the Carpal Tunnel Device (Carpal Tunnel Dynasplint) to stretch my hands.  I could tell the difference after the first time he used the device, my hands felt so much better.  I actually looked forward to my visits because my hands would feel so much better after he used the device to treat them.  After my therapy was over I had no more pain and I was able to lift items with my hands and have had no further treatments.  I told my physician of the great results I had with the device and suggested he refer other patients to Meharry Physical Therapy for treatment with the carpal tunnel device prior to surgery  I feel if I had I wouldn’t have had to under go (undergo) the surgery.  I tell everyone that I come in contact with that have problems with their hands about this device and suggest that they speak with their physician about therapy with Mr. Meharry so that they too can have the same chance at pain relief as I did using the carpal tunnel device.”

“Early spring of this year I had a few weeks of physical therapy. I am a part time Bookkeeperr and a horse enthusiast and needed those hands and wrists!  The therapy was a big help—the exercises Mr. Meharry taught me to do @ home were helpful and the carpal tunnel stretch device helped in stretching as I relaxed.  He let me borrow it twice, once for a trip, once for a week @ home—[once he taught me to use it, I was almost perfect(?)] and the 10 minutes or so each day were very beneficial.  I enjoyed the stretch device and the good derived from it.  (I think it would be nice if one could be purchased for use @ home.)  Thanks.”

How It Works....

The Dynasplint^® Carpal Tunnel System is a simple, non-surgical treatment method for treating carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Multiple research studies have demonstrated that the transverse carpal ligament is a distensible structure which elongates in response to sustained load bearing and/or osteopathic manipulation,* resulting in clinical improvement of CTS patients.* By applying our low-load, prolonged-duration stretch (LLPS) technology to the transverse carpal ligament, the carpal tunnel expands thereby relieving the pressure on the median nerve. Our unique System is comfortable to wear and adjusts to fit most hand sizes. Best of all, successful treatment with a non-surgical approach results in less suffering, less time off work, and significant medical cost savings.

How is This Going to Help Me?

Your Dynasplint^® System will slowly provide a stretch to your hand - opening and lengthening the ligaments that are currently restricted. This has to be done gradually to allow the connective tissue remodeling to take place. Think of a rubber band that you expand and snap for the first time. Once released, it snaps back to the original size. But, if you take the rubber band and place it on your car visor for the whole summer, after removing it-you’ll see that it’s permanently changed. That’s what happens when you wear your Dynasplint^® System. The low-load prolonged-duration stretch permanently lengthens your connective tissue to give back your range of motion and your life!

What to Expect

After your doctor orders the Dynasplint^® System for you, a Dynasplint^® representative will meet you at the doctor’s or therapists’ office. The Dynasplint^® representative will custom fit the Carpal Tunnel unit to your hand. They will instruct you how and when to wear your Dynasplint^® System. It is always worn when you are relaxed and inactive, perhaps while watching TV or reading.

Patient Wearing Protocol

Please review the tension your Dynasplint^® consultant set for you initially.

On the first day, wear the Dynasplint^® System for up to two cumulative hours.

On the second day, try to extend the time beyond two hours by wearing the splint at multiple daytime applications.

The most common wearing schedule reporting good clinical results is 2-3 sessions per day, 20-30 minutes per session.

Studies show that longer periods of low-force stretch produce greater permanent elongation of connective tissue.

How Do I Get a Dynasplint^® System?

How to Return your Dynasplint^®

Typically, the unit will stay with you for 3-4 months. In preliminary clinical testing, over 95% of patients using the Dynasplint^® Carpal Tunnel System showed significant improvement in pain level, muscle strength, and overall hand function allowing them to avoid more aggressive and expensive procedures.
