February is For Lovers–Lovers of Grapefruit That Is

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, grapefruit is in season so it is only fitting that it is National Grapefruit Month.

How ’bout these fun facts found at the USDA site.  Did you know that:

1. The United States is the world’s number one producer of grapefruit?
2. The grapefruit that contain seeds are used to make juice?
3. That it got its name  because it grows in clusters like grapes?
4. Grapefruit is an excellent source of Vitamin C as just a half of one provides 80% of an adult’s recommended dailyVitamin C.
